A 2026 Bilpin Dahlias new release, Bilpin Pearl Blush is the result of years of hopeful breeding. I've repeatedly crossed Glenmarc Divine with Jeff Bloom, chasing the elegant form and petal shape of Glenmarc Divine combined with the beautiful colouring of Jeff Bloom. While the journey continues, Bilpin Pearl Blush has exceeded all my expectations with this truly magical bloom.
You can clearly see the influence of both parents. She carries their soft lilac tones, with blooms that respond beautifully to the growing conditions. In warmer weather, the petals develop a richer purple flush reminiscent of Jeff Bloom, while in shadier conditions they soften to the most delicate pearl blush. Bilpin pearl Blush is a small to medium decorative dahlia.
I have to admit I'm slightly besotted with this colouring. As this is a new release with limited stock, I'll be offering small numbers periodically as the tubers eye up, so it's worth checking the website from time to time. My hope is to eventually have a full 100-metre row dedicated to this beautiful cultivar.
