Named by my youngest — with charming literalness — the “Big Fat Grape” lives up to its name with luscious, globe-like blooms in rich grape-purple tones. A tall and elegant grower, it even surpassed Glenmarc Divine in height, with its swan-like stems carrying blooms right through summer and autumn. Despite its size, the blooms held their shape beautifully, with petals staying tight and the centre only opening late in the season. For a big bloomer, Bilpin BFG produces small thumb like tubers in tight clusters.
